General information for  Mig-29 Fulcrum

Mig-29 Fulcrum

The CARF MiG-29 “Fulcrum” has been released in the year 1999. At that time it already had consumed 3 years of research and development. We decided to go with no compromise and created a top of the line model aircraft, which is and will be unreached in scale, complexity and performance. 1997 World Champion Wolfgang Klühr teamed up with us to develop this unique airplane in order to defend his title in 1999.

A small german company "Leimbach Modellbau", known for the leadership in micro hydraulics, was contracted for the serial production of the MiG landing gear and all hydraulic accessories. After some time better product became available, today a microprocessor controlled hydraulic pump with pressure reservoir powers the 13 cylinders, controlled by servo driven micro valve blocks.

Wolfgang won the 1999 Jet World Masters with his MiG-29. Only a few weeks later we all could be proud to receive some of the most valuable trophies for Jets: Manufacturers Trophy, Top Gun Trophy and Best of Show for Wolfgang at 1999 Superman, Metropolis.

Today the CARF MiG-29 A "Fulcrum" kit is still the bechmark of a modern scale jet, which proves how far advanced the plane was ten years ago. However, absolutely complete except radio and turbines, the kit even includes the hydraulic landing gear, which had received several upgrades during time. With a MiG-29 you will own a value, which will be a desired collector’s piece in the near future.

  • all fibreglass parts have the surface detailing molded-in, with every rivet, screw, fastener, access panel and ’dents’ all faithfully reproduced in the mold.

  • the complete kit is painted silver in the molds for easy scale painting and to allow you to reproduce scale weathering effects more easily.

  • utmost care has been taken to keep the airframe light enough in order to allow a Jet World Masters Competition within the current rules

  • fuselage is a Kevlar sandwich construction with removable air intakes and engine nacelles

  • wings are lightest glass sandwich construction with slats and flaps skin hinged, cut out and readily working, ailerons are non-functional

  • horizontal stab is a flying stab with the axis of rotation in scale position and direction

  • rudder fins are light weight sandwich parts, readily installed to the fuselage on carbon rods, always removable for transport

  • a removable nose cone gives access to RC components and batteries

  • hydraulic landing gear with all necessary accessories is included in the kit

  • all material for the twin engine installation is included in the kit. The MiG-29 is a pure twin, a single engine with bifurcated pipe cannot be installed due to the fuselage’s shape.

  • a huge instruction manual with hundreds of photos makes construction straight forward, even though the MiG-29 is not a pure ARF and extensive installation work is required to finish the project successfully.

On top of the impressive appearance on the ground there simply isn’t any other fighter jet looking meaner in the air than a MiG-29. This unique silhoutte in combination with the light weight and the breathtaking manouverability allows the pilot to stunn spectators and judges with a unique performance. Let the photos on this page inspire you for your own “mission”.
