Flying Characteristics

| Influenced by modern F3A and Artistic Aerobatics Designs, we went other ways with our 2.1m Extra than with the "bigger birds". The streched design is not only responsible for neutral and precise flying characteristics, it also keeps the weight down. And look at that slim, elegant shape: Isn't it just beautiful? |

We always listen to our customers to improve our designs continously. So we did also with the Extra 2x2, the forerunner of our Extra 2.1m. The wingspan is now increased a little to lower the wing-load and let the plane be more floaty in 3D. The other big difference is the new stab with pin-style hinged elevators. It was hard to get the big throws, needed for crazy 3D-maneuvers, with the old flex hinged elevator, so we changed it now. You won't have any problems, getting the biggest throws easily. Guaranteed. |
| While still providing enough fuselage side-area for the craziest knife-edge maneuvers, the 2.1m Extra 300's shape is quite aerodynamic. You'll get amazing power with a 50cc engine even on a canister. You can use a tuned pipe with a small modification to the tunnel if you want, but that's not aerobatics anymore, that's Air-Racing. Anyways, we suggest you the well-proven and lightweight DA-50 to have a powerful and reliable airplane. |

"Form follows function" - that's what we had on our mind while designing the "2.12". You have to go other ways to create an excellent flying plane in the 50cc class. And we made our homework! Our smallest aerobatic plane doesn't have to hide behind our other designs, just making it the perfect every-day training machine. |
