Mark it in your calendars: The 3rd CARF-Meeting will take place from April 30th to May 2nd at the airfield Kehl-Sundheim, Germany. Kehl is located at the border of the black forest, close to the french city Strasbourg. A huge hangar will provide more than enough space for a trade show and the presentation of new CARF airplane kits. Every pilot, participating with his own CARF-Models plane, doing only one flight at the weekend, will be automaticly registered for a giant raffle. The club will take care of the catering as they did perfectly at the previous CARF-Meeting 2009. A lot of CARF team pilots and our special star guests will present you all CARF models in a very professional and entertaining airshow. The good thing for you: You will have the unique possibility to test-fly every airplane with a buddy-box system. The very experienced team around Winfried Ohlgart will organize this part of the event as professional as they did last year.

Last day: The big finale
|
Last day: The big finale
Wow, what an event. Sorry to be late with the last gallery, but the reporter needed some sleep really badly - as all of the organizers did. We are completely exhausted, but happy and overwhelmed from the great response of this unique event. Let's start with saturday evening: Everybody was there finally and we had a big party all together. The rock band "Tinitus" did an excellent job and everybody was cheering and dancing. The rain stopped for our big night flying show and so everything went perfect. A lot of fireworks and freestyle flights mostly with music could be seen. After that, the band continued and the author of this rows left at about 2pm; some of the other guys were still there and having fun.
Okay, Sunday: First we were lucky and the weather was pretty good. So a lot of buddy-box flying happened before noon. We are glad that no serious crash happend during the whole event. All of the pilots did an amazing and professional job. After the lunch break we started with our highlights airshow, which is a short presentation of the most spectacular planes and pilots we had at the event. Unfortunately, close to the end the rain started again and did not stop until evening, so no more further buddy-box-flying was possible. We hope - speaking to our valued customers - that you understand that we did the best to get you in the air but just had bad luck with the weather. Hopefully it turns to be another way at the 4th CARF Meeting, to be published at this place in some time...
See you, have fun, and: THANK YOU!
PS: A picture gallery from our professional fotographer will follow soon, so watch this space!

Third day: A lot of Highlights |
Third day: A lot of Highlights
The rain finally arrived. That's the bad thing, and we had to pause the airshow and the buddybox-flying for 1 hour now - but it's getting better. Good that the perfect organization of "Aero-Club Kehl" helped to keep the good attitude. But let's talk about many many highlights we already had today: Frank Versteegh did an amazing aerobatic display with his new full-scale Extra 330L. He put a lot of smoke in the air and did some amanzingly low knife-edge or slip passages. We had a 45 minutes lasting highlights airshow with selected model airplane displays. All the guys did a great job. A lot of buddy-box flights were absolved before noon. We're now all hoping that the rain goes away soon and looking forward to a great rest of the day including the big hangar party with a life band and our amazing night flying show.
